Pinterest Video Downloader
Download Pinterest videos, images and carousels as MP4 and JPG. This Pinterest video downloader grabs the exact file Pinterest already serves, straight from its own CDN, with nothing added or removed.
Videos, images and carousels — paste any public pin link and all media downloads.
How to use the Pinterest video downloader
VideoCatch is a free Pinterest video downloader for public pins. Paste a link that looks like pinterest.com/pin/1067205871302510217/, on any of Pinterest's regional domains, or a shortened pin.it link, and VideoCatch reads the pin the way a signed-out visitor sees it, then hands back the same MP4 that Pinterest's own player streams. That covers a plain video pin, an image pin, a multi-image carousel, and an older idea pin video built from several pages: whatever the pin holds, VideoCatch lists every item in it. Save Pinterest video and image files with one Download button per item, or press Download all as zip to pack the whole set into one file in your browser. Nothing passes through VideoCatch's own servers first: the file moves straight from Pinterest's content delivery network to your device. There is no account to create, no fee, and no watermark stamped over the picture.
- On the Pinterest app, open the pin and tap the share icon, then Copy link.
- On desktop, open the pin at pinterest.com and copy the page address straight from the browser's address bar. A shortened pin.it link works the same way.
- Paste the link in the box above and press Download. Video, image and carousel pins all resolve through the same box.
Pinterest video downloader FAQ
Which Pinterest links work here?
Any public pin: pinterest.com/pin/ links on the .com domain or a country domain such as pinterest.co.uk or pinterest.jp, and shortened pin.it links, which redirect to the same pin. Board links and profile links are not supported, since those pages list many pins rather than holding media themselves, so paste the individual pin link instead of the board it sits on.
Does downloading add a watermark?
No. Pinterest does not stamp a logo or handle onto the pins it stores, so the file VideoCatch hands back is the same one Pinterest already serves, watermark-free. Anything printed inside the picture itself, such as a creator's own logo or caption text, was placed there before the pin was uploaded, and no tool can lift that back out of the frame.
What quality do I get when I save a Pinterest video?
Whatever Pinterest already encoded for that pin: typically up to 720p, and 1080p on some pins, since VideoCatch serves the file as is rather than re-encoding it. There is usually one file per video pin to choose from, because Pinterest's own web player uses a single rendition rather than a ladder of qualities to pick from.
What happens with idea pin video links and carousels?
Both work. A carousel or an old-style idea pin video lists every page in order, images and video mixed exactly as the author arranged them, each with its own Download button, plus Download all as zip for the whole set. Pinterest folded idea pins into one unified Pin format in 2023, so most links today open like an ordinary multi-page pin.
Can I download from a private or secret board?
No. A pin on a private or secret board only loads for a signed-in account with access to it, and VideoCatch never holds a Pinterest login of any kind: it only ever sees what a visitor who is not signed in can see. Paste a link from a public board or profile instead, and the pin resolves the normal way.
Does this work on iPhone?
Yes. Open Pinterest in Safari or the app, copy the pin link, and paste it here; the site behaves the same on a phone as on a desktop. Safari often opens a saved video in its own player first rather than downloading it straight away, so tap Share, then Save Video, to move the file into Photos, which is ordinary iOS behavior.
Is it legal to use a Pinterest video downloader?
Saving a copy for personal, private use is generally accepted, but the video or image still belongs to whoever made or posted it. Reposting it, reselling it, or using someone else's pin inside your own content without permission can infringe their rights, so treat a download the same way you would treat any other copyrighted file you did not create yourself.
What the Pinterest video downloader saves from a pin
A Pinterest pin can be a still image, a plain video, a multi-image carousel, or one of the older idea pins that string several pages of video and images together. VideoCatch reads whichever kind sits behind the link: paste pinterest.com/pin/1067205871302510217/ on the .com domain or any of Pinterest's country domains, or paste a shortened pin.it link, and VideoCatch resolves it the same way a signed-out visitor's browser would.
Carousels and idea pins list every item in the order the author set. A carousel holding four photos and one video returns five rows, each with its own Download button, plus a Download all as zip button that packs the set together in your browser without a second trip through VideoCatch's servers. A plain video pin or a single image pin returns one file, and that is the whole list.
Pinterest merged idea pins into one unified Pin format in 2023, so a link people still call an idea pin video today usually opens like any other multi-page pin. Idea pins made before the change kept their pages, and VideoCatch reads those pages the same way it reads a carousel: item by item, image or video, in the order they were posted.
Two things are out of reach. A pin on a private or secret board needs a logged-in session to view at all, so VideoCatch, which only ever sees what a signed-out visitor sees, cannot open it. And a small number of pins serve their video only as an HLS stream built from many small segments rather than one file; VideoCatch skips those rather than stitching segments together, since a Cloudflare Worker has no video encoder to rebuild a single MP4 from them.
Pinterest video downloader quality and the spec table
Pinterest's own limits on video pins are documented, and what VideoCatch serves sits inside them because nothing is re-encoded: VideoCatch hands back whatever Pinterest's player already uses. That is typically up to 720p, and 1080p on some pins, never higher than what Pinterest itself stored for that pin.
There's no real Pinterest to MP4 conversion happening at any point. Video pins on Pinterest are already MP4 or M4V files by the platform's own spec, so a Pinterest to MP4 downloader is really just a Pinterest to MP4 copy: the bytes Pinterest served, saved onto your device instead of streamed once and forgotten.
The table below lists Pinterest's own published limits for video pins next to what VideoCatch typically measures. The video numbers come from Pinterest's Help Center; the image file size limits are the same page's stated caps for image pins, since Pinterest publishes both formats together on one spec sheet.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Video length | 4 seconds minimum, 5 minutes maximum, per the Pinterest Help Center |
| Recommended video aspect ratio | 9:16 full-bleed, 1080 × 1920 px, per the Pinterest Help Center |
| Other supported aspect ratios | 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 2:3, and 1:2 |
| Video file formats | MP4 or M4V on the web; MP4, MOV or M4V on Android and iOS |
| Video encoding | H.264 or H.265 |
| Image Pin file size | 20 MB maximum on the web, 1 GB recommended on Android and iOS |
| Typical quality VideoCatch serves | Up to 720p, 1080p on some pins, read from the file Pinterest returns |
Saving on iPhone, Android and desktop
The download runs between your browser and Pinterest's own content delivery network, so what happens after you press Download depends on your browser, not on VideoCatch. Three platforms, three slightly different flows:
- iPhone and iPadTap Download. Safari usually opens the file in its own player instead of saving it right away. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, then Save Video, and the clip lands in Photos. For an image, press and hold the picture and choose Save Image instead.
- AndroidTap Download. Chrome saves the file to the Downloads folder and shows a notification; tap it, or use Move to, to send the file into Gallery. If Chrome opens the video in a tab instead of saving it, long-press the video and choose Download video.
- DesktopClick Download and most browsers save the file right away. If a video opens in a new tab instead, right-click it and choose Save video as. Pinterest's own filenames are long strings of digits, so rename the file while you save it.
