By using VideoCatch you accept the terms below. They are written plainly on purpose.
What VideoCatch is
VideoCatch is a convenience tool that locates the direct file URL of a video inside a public social media post and hands it to your browser. It hosts nothing, stores nothing, and claims no ownership or licence over any content it helps you retrieve. Every video belongs to whoever made it.
Respect the creator
A download is not a licence. Saving a clip to watch offline, to quote in commentary, or to keep a copy of your own post is one thing; re-uploading someone else's work as your own, stripping their credit, or monetising it is another, and this tool does not make that acceptable. You are also bound by the terms of service of the platform the post came from: X, Meta and Xingin, the company behind RedNote, each have their own rules and they still apply.
You agree not to use VideoCatch for content depicting people who have not consented to its distribution, for material that is illegal where you are, or through automated scripts that hammer the service. Rate limiting is enforced at 30 lookups per ten minutes per IP address.
No warranty
VideoCatch is provided as is, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind. Source platforms change their endpoints without notice and features may break or disappear. We may modify, rate-limit or discontinue any part of the service at any time. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this tool.
Copyright and takedowns
VideoCatch stores no media, so there is nothing on our servers to take down. If you are a rights holder and believe this site facilitates infringement of your work, write to hello@videocatch.org with the URL involved, an identification of the work, and your contact details. We answer takedown notices and will block specific content or sources where the claim is valid. Misrepresenting ownership in such a notice has legal consequences for the sender. The Copyright and Takedown Policy sets out the full list of what a notice must contain, the reply window, and the counter-notice route.
