Privacy Policy
This page describes exactly what VideoCatch does with data. It is short because the service does very little.
No accounts
There is no sign-up, no login and no password. We do not ask for your name or your email address to use the tool, and we never ask you to authenticate with X, Instagram, Threads or any other platform. There is no user record to breach, because there are no users.
No stored videos
VideoCatch does not download, copy, transcode or host any video. When you press Download, your browser fetches the file directly from the platform's own content delivery network. The file never reaches our servers, so we hold no copy of anything you have downloaded, and no log of which size you chose.
Metadata cache
For up to one hour we keep the public metadata of a post you looked up, meaning the post ID, the text, the thumbnail URL and the list of available sizes, in a small database on Cloudflare. This exists so that repeat lookups of the same popular post do not hammer the source platform. It contains nothing about you, and it is discarded when it expires.
IP addresses
Your IP address is used for rate limiting: a counter of how many lookups an address has made in the current ten-minute window, capped at 30, so that automated abuse cannot get the whole service blocked. The counter is keyed on the address, holds no other information, and the window rolls over continuously. We do not build profiles and we do not sell or share this data.
Analytics and cookies
VideoCatch uses three analytics services. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and performance without setting cookies, without collecting personal data, and without tracking visitors across sites; the data is aggregated and cannot identify individual users. Google Analytics (GA4) collects anonymized usage data to help us understand traffic sources and user behavior; it sets first-party cookies and is processed under Google's privacy terms. Microsoft Clarity records anonymized session replays and heatmaps so we can see how the page is used and fix usability problems; Clarity sets first-party cookies, does not collect passwords or payment fields, and its data is processed under Microsoft's privacy terms. No advertising network is loaded.
